State to phase out printed exams in education reforms

Director General for Basic Education, Dr. Elyas Abdi, said the initiative will be implemented in partnership with the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) as part of broader reforms to streamline the sector. Currently, KNEC requires about Sh12.5 billion annually to conduct examinations and invigilation, yet budget allocations have consistently fallen short.
